Suziblu Workshop
Click on the above YouTube video to view a slideshow of the Suziblu Mermaids by the Sea workshop that my daughter and I attended this past weekend.
Suzi held an awsome 2 day workshop. There were about 20 women. Suzi's class was fun, inspiring, supportive and I wish the class didn't have to end. We crammed so much into the 2 days. First off it took 9 hours in the car to get there. The day of the Workshop Suzi welcomed us with open arms and a nuturing environment in which to create.
The laughter was insane. We all went home with aching cheeks from laughing so much, and for so long. It was a great weekend.

My Daughters Work of Art
Here is my daughters latest and greatest work of art. He was born on March 24 and I am so in love. I had been pleasantly side-tracked helping them out for a bit and loving every moment. To have shared this time with my daughter has meant the absolute world to me. A very special time. I do have to admit however that I had forgotten what total sleep deprivation felt like. Holy crap!!
He is not letting mommy sleep very much but that will soon change. They grow up so quickly so you must capture and enjpy every moment that you possibly can. Create wonderful memories, indulge in parenthood, and watch the miracle unfold right before your eyes. It is truely the hardest thing that you will ever love to do; Being a parent; It's huge

Mixed Media on Wood
I love working on this wood. The wood is poplar and Prismacolors blend really nicely on it. You can get poplar in various sizes at Home Depot. It is less expensive at Home Depot than the pieces you can purchase at Michaels. I am still having so much fun creating these pretty girls that I learned taking the suziblu class. I am not willing or ready to move on to something else. I have not yet reached my limit of interest; there are so many lil door hangers that still need to be created, and wall hangings. Where will it go, where will this road lead to.

I am pleased with this; it feels complete; tells a bit of a story, and thats where I think I would like to take these. They feel sort of story book like. I have taken what I have learned in the class and incorperated into a cohesive piece. I have been learning and stumbeling and bumbeling along the way. Hubby came up with the idea of creating a book of dolls from around the world. Fun project but for a later date as I have way too many projects on my plate at present.

Sunday Sept. 21
It is Sunday. I spent all day yesterday getting this blog situated. I am still rearranging, adding stuff and messing about in here. I will not be working on line much next week as I am having a bit of surgory and will probably not feel up to it. I would like to put up an array of projects that I have created, just so you can get an idea of what I spend my days doing.

Original Watercolor
It is Saturday September 20 2008. I am finally getting this blog up and going. There is a chill in the air and I am glad that I have spent the entire day inside. Fall has deffinately arrived. We have mild winters here so I don't mind them so much. I like the rain; there is something really peaceful about it to me. I am hoping my blog inspires me to do more art.

About Me
- Patti
- The art that you see on this page has been done by me unless otherwise stated. I am an amature artist and work in several different mediums. I love altered art and I work with watercolor and acrylic painting. I love working with both. I have an art room that is my own little space. I spend alot of time in here. I do alot of experimenting. My working career has taken me from doing hair, raising angora rabbits to harvest their wool for handspinning (you do not kill or harm the rabbits in any way). I worked for a local hospice for a couple of years as volunteer respit care. I worked as the floor manager for a catering company for about 10 years. I had a craft faire jewelry business, went back to school to take classes to become computer litterate and did a stint in the Silicon Valley as Receptionist/office inventory supply girl at a high tech startup. I did some P R work for a chiro who sent me to massage school. Have done massage for about 8 years and ended my working career as a massage therapist. My life has been full and my family always and forever in the forefront. Recently retired I am concentrating on art and lovin life.
